Crush

There is something special
What is it that you do
That makes me check my phone
Every minute or two

You make me laugh
You make me smile
I hope this feeling
Lasts a while

How it feels around you
I cannot hide
So I just sit back
And enjoy the ride

It's been a long time
Since I've felt like this
But seeing your eyes smile
Is just pure bliss

You caught me by surprise
I had no clue
That my feelings would start
To grow on you

I hope its not just me
I hope you feel it too
How can I be falling
Head over heals for you

We haven't even been
On a date
But in my mind
You're worth the wait

Look at me
Look at what you've done
You make me happy
And help me have fun

So without you knowing
I want to thank you
For letting me see
The real person in you

I've really done it now...

As if I'm not running around like a chicken with my head cut off the way it is...I can't believe I add another thing to do to my day/week/schedule. Some may think I'm crazy, and what do I say to that? They are probably right.
So what is it you ask???? The picture might say it all....

Don't let the poor quality of the picture fool you, this is ROCK BAND 2, with the microphone, the drum set and guitar! It's hours of pure fun and bliss! Ahhh, now you get it, that's why I have not been on blogging much in the last couple days...yes, you'd be correct, I've been much too busy on my Wii to even consider taking the time to tell you how EXCITED I am.

Thanks to Rob and Sarah and them introducing me to this, I have been addicted since the first weekend in January...and looking almost daily for this incredible buy. However, apparently so was everyone else. I'd use my breaks (and sometimes non-breaks) to call stores all over Sioux Falls to find out if they had it in stock. Most were pretty cryptic saying, no and not saying when they expect more in and/or when they even get truck loads in. However, there were two helpful stores: Shopko and Target. I always knew I loved Target for a reason...I was told "Thursday at the earliest" by the young woman at Shopko and Target say "We get trucks in every day and don't know what's on them until they are here, call every day after 11." AND I DID.

This Thursday I, skeptical yet hopeful, picked up my phone and called Shopko...nope, still nothing. Then Target. The man on the phone said, so casually, "Yup, we got two." WHAT, how can he be so casual about this, I've been addicted and not playing for almost a month...I need that. "Can you hold it?" Skeptically asked, "For how long...?" "Less than a half hour, I'm leaving work now...from Sioux Falls, be right there," as I threw on my coat and grabbed my purse.

I was successful, pure success, they held it, and I got it. Oh the pains of going back to work with Rock Band sitting in my trunk, in the cold, all alone....wanting to be played so badly. But I did, not without telling everyone I work with how amazing that phone call was. Thursday night I get home, start taking it out of the box, no doubt those lil packagers that put that thing in the box were way smarter than me, wow...that was a workout in itself. I got it out, just in time for me to have to LEAVE! Ugh, so tempting to call and say, no, I won't make it tonight, however, my banjo practicing has really slipped the last couple weeks and I needed to go...

But the last two days? Rock on! It has been played and played and played. My mom was jamming out to We Got the Beat and I've already had friends over to start a band. With this, It's very dangerous that I may get NOTHING done for the rest of my life. To prevent that, I had to make a schedule:

Work
Workout
Banjo practice
Eat
Wii or whatever I choose, most likely will be wii =)

Somewhere in there I may find time to blog, if you don't hear from me, I'm most likely alive. Call if you like, just to make sure...

I'm Ready

Times have changed
It's a new day
My life can go
Any which way

It took some time
To heal and grow
But with the passing days
Now I know

I am me
I am strong
And where I am now
Is where I belong

I will not forget
But learn from the past
I look toward the future
My options are vast

I'm done with this
I'm moving on
No more looking back
All sadness gone

I'm ready to live
I'm ready to love
I'm moving on
I'm all the above

So watch out world
Here I come
Always remembering
Where I'm from

Worn Out

Wow back to the not a late night person....this last weekend was crazy and lots of late nights - once again! Although all of these friend gatherings and family weekends are totally worth it, the lack of sleep is starting to wear on my body.
Example one: Yesterday I went to church, did nothing all day except grocery shopping and went to a friends volleyball game - then I was chilling on the couch just resting and woke up at 8:45. I calculated with the show I was watching I had only been sleeping for about 15 minutes, however, I got up immediately and went right to bed and did not wake up until 6:15, just in time for work. Who says there is such a thing as too much sleep - it felt amazing!
Example two: Today after work I was doing my bills and apparently as soon as I set my laptop down, I fell asleep on the couch, for at least an hour. Sadly, to make sure that I am able to sleep tonight, I had to make myself stay awake. I was able to do it, but my couch is just so comfortable =)
So much for doing all I wanted to tonight, however, I totally am going to Wii Fit it up as soon as I'm done writing this - then I may play my banjo a little bit before heading to bed - we'll see if I can make it that far. Only time will tell...

Interpretation

A lot happens in an hour, a day, a week, a month, a year, a lifetime. It's weird to think that each of us remembers how things happen in our own separate way. This really came to my attention while we each were reading my Auntie Mary's beginnings of her novel.

Memories are exactly that, how you remember it, and she made sure to tell that to her sisters prior to reading her writings. With Grandma Gick gone, her children often get into many arguments and battles, ending up in phone calls to other family members asking for the "answer" which still doesn't seem to solve the debate.

With these discussions being brought up frequently this weekend with yet again, another wonderful "family" gathering, it made me think. I have all my moments remembered in my mind and with some on paper. However, very few of those events happened to me while I was alone. It's weird to think that how I remember things, may not be how they really happened - or at least how others think they happened. Even if you keep emotion and personal opinion out of stories to keep it as matter-of-factly as possible, individual interpretation always seems to be different.

I wish Mary luck to her new position as an author =) and expect a signed copy once completed. I also encourage her siblings to write the same stories, but with their interpretation of "what really happened" and it can be a series!

Write on, make your life the most enjoyable story to read, cry to, laugh to, and pass on to others!

snowy day

So each day I think, hm I really should post a new blog, but don't know what to write about. This week has been pretty low key with two nights where I had the luxury to to absolutely nothing other than lay on the couch and go to bed early. That was AMAZING!

I'm not a late night person but last weekend tested my abilities when I gathered with some family, where we played Rock Band, board games, dice and SPOONS =) A few broken nails later, I still lost...sad. Goodbyes are hard and I can't wait until it's time to say "Hello" again, they are much more fun.

This week continued the stretch of seeing good friends that have moved away and were back to visit. I always promise myself not to stay out late, but it's so hard not to get caught up in yummy food, good company and great conversation....3+ hours later it's past my bedtime and still have a drive home to go.

Snow has come today but it won't stop the gatherings....
